1. North Korea
Even though we do not know that much about North Korea due to there fact that it is closed off to the rest of the world it is estimated that a whopping 4.373% percent of the population are enslaved and forced to work without pay. 1,100,000 people are estimated to be enslaved
2. Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan also was estimated to be the world’s second-worst country when ranked for slavery in proportion to the population. Uzbekistan slavery is mainly about the cotton field plantations. 1, 236, 600 have been estimated to live enslaved in Uzbekistan.
3. Cambodia
Cambodia has 256, 800 people enslaved and 1.65%. The population
15,758,000. the biggest problem is forced marriage and human trafficking.
4. India
India is the 4th largest country in modern slavery. Even though it ranks at number 4, It contains the largest amount of people in slavery which is approximately 18,354,700 people out of 1,311,051,000 in India which is 1.400%. Around 270 million people in India are living on $1.90 or less everyday.
5. Qatar
Qatar is a very small country with an overall population of 2,235,000 and about 30,300 which is 1.356%. most of the enslaved workers work in forced labour on construction sites. They are forced to when they take out loans that they can't pay off the loans, sometimes the loans can have 30 - 60% interest.
